I love that this is so circa 1979 The Batcave in England when the goth scene was first being born. At the same time, it's a double edged sword, since the style has been done so often before. However, I didn't deduct any points on originality, since this is obviously not meant to be solely a fashion portrait, but a representation of characters from a fictional story. In that, it is highly original.
The setting gives me this cool, dark vibe that just grabs me and draws me in. What I especially love is the way the image was cropped. You have these old, crummy looking couches, but these gorgeous models just filling up the space beautifully. To me it feels like this was shot just outside a bar or pub where some underground goth or darkwave band is playing, and they've come outside for a ciggy or clove.
The tones are especially lovely. There is a nice balance between white, gray, and black. It's interesting, because I can see every detail in the girl's boot, and no details in her hand right next to it. Yet, that contrast is what makes it more interesting to me.
Honestly, I wish I had taken this photo myself! Great work.
